King of the Alps

The excursion offers a unique opportunity to experience and understand the local wildlife and nature up close. Together with the Arosa photographer Veit Fritz, you will hike through varied terrain, make stops at special viewpoints, and learn more about the plants and animals of the region. With a bit of luck, you may observe ibex in their natural habitat and marvel at their adaptability. The goal is to inspire fascination and respect for wildlife and to raise awareness about the protection of their habitats.

Suitable for families with small children aged 10 and over. A good basic level of fitness is required. The hike to Alteinsee has a steep ascent and takes approx. 2 hours.

Good footwear (sturdy hiking boots above ankle height with a good profile), clothing suitable for the weather, sun or rain protection, sufficient drinks. If you wish, you can take your camera or, if available, binoculars with you and lunch.

How to get there

From Arosa railway station by bus to Arosa, Untersee then approx. minutes on foot.

- Start of event: 11:00 am - 6:00 pm

- Duration of the hike: 4 hours (steep ascent)

- The hike leads to Alteinsee
