Habitat Mountain Forest
Pro Natura Graubünden and the Swiss Birdlife Conservation invite you to join an excursion to the Arosa Special Forest Reserve together with the Arosa Forestry.
Participants will gain exciting insights into the diverse habitats of the mountain forest, its care, and the special significance of this protected area.
In the Special Forest Reserve "Schanfigg," experts will show how the forest is managed and how biodiversity can be purposefully promoted even in an economically utilized forest.
Additionally, there will be many interesting facts about the capercaillie and other grouse that call the mountain forest home and find valuable habitats here.
During our joint walk through the forest, we may encounter various animals or discover their tracks with a bit of luck.

The event is suitable for people aged 8 and over with good off-road capability.
Hike
- Distance: approx. 5km
- Ascent: 300 meters
Equipment
Good footwear (sturdy mountain shoes above ankle height with good grip), weather-appropriate clothing, sun or rain protection, sufficient drinks, small snacks, binoculars (if available).
