General Information
A sunrise is always worth the effort.
Often we would rather stay in our warm bed – but every time we feel the first rays of the sun on our skin, we know: It was worth it. That's why we push ourselves to get out of bed in the dark – knowing it will be worth it, no matter how the sunrise turns out.
Especially in winter, the true magic often occurs before sunrise:
When the day slowly announces itself, the first light breaks through the darkness, and the world seems to stand still for a moment. What will our sunrise be like? We will only find out when we are there.
Maybe the sky will turn blood red. Maybe it will show itself in soft violet. Or it may remain completely quiet and inconspicuous – and touch us precisely because of that.
With the hiking guide Katharina Trachsler, we hike from night into day and enjoy every facet of this special moment. And who knows – maybe we will wait at the Scheidegg until the first ray of sunshine touches our skin and warms us up.
After the spectacle, we will leisurely return to Arosa.
Those who wish can stop in Arosa – with a coffee and a fresh croissant, we warm up and let the experiences resonate.
The day is still young, and yet we have already experienced so much.
It is indeed worth getting up early – right?
Route:
We hike along the winter hiking trail to Prätschalp, via Roter Tritt to Scheidegg and then return over Maran, Eichhörnliweg to Obersee.

Hiking Time
approx. 4 hours (leisurely pace), difficulty WT1-WT2
Equipment
Wind and weather-resistant jacket and pants, warm sweater, gloves, hat, mountain shoes or warm winter hiking shoes, small backpack, snowshoes, poles, avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe - Technical equipment can be rented from me or in Arosa if needed.
Meeting Point
Detailed program and meeting point will be provided on the evening before the tour.
