Music works from the 20th century are presented. The composers Francis Poulenc from France, Edward Grieg from Norway, and Richard Strauss from Germany form a musical unity with their artistry. Poulenc's French Suite for piano, consisting of various dances, is complemented by the vivid songs of Richard Strauss. Pieces such as "Dream through the Twilight," "Dedication," "The Night," and other master songs by Richard Strauss are performed. The composer masters orchestration even in simple compositional forms. The piano part is very detailed and rich in harmonic twists and tonal diversity. Edward Grieg provides the instrumental response, combining musical language and poetry in piano compositions like "Summer Evening," "Forest Stillness," and "Notturno." Melodic simplicity, combined with lush harmonies, characterizes the compositional art of Poulenc, Strauss, and Grieg.
