Franco Mettler, clarinet & Edmauro de Oliveira, guitar
In the mid-19th century, around 2000 Swiss emigrated to Brazil. (Were there Schanfiggers among them?). During this time, Choro originated in Rio de Janeiro. It is a fusion of popular European music (Polka, Waltz) and the music of African slaves. The two musicians dedicate themselves to this music style with great devotion in this concert.
