Preserving Workshop "Chutney, Kimchi, Sauerkraut & Co"

In this course with foodwaste.ch, we get to the heart of preserving: Together, we will process wonky vegetables into kimchi and chutney. You will learn and apply the basics of fermenting and preserving. Additionally, you will discover interesting facts about food waste and learn how to avoid food wastage. Inspiration for utilizing your next garden surplus and creating a food-waste-free household is guaranteed. During the concluding snack, we will exchange experiences and recipes.

You will take home 2 jars of preserves, along with a course dossier and informational material.

The course is conducted by foodwaste.ch.

The event is suitable for interested adults and for young people aged 12 and up when accompanied by an adult.

To bring along

  • 1-2 SMALL jars of 2dl capacity each. Screw jars work best. A clean jar from purchased canned goods with an intact lid can also be used.
  • 1 jar of 5dl capacity with a wide opening so that a hand can fit inside.
    A clamp jar (e.g. from IKEA or the Fido type from Bormioli) or a Weck jar is best suited. A screw jar also works. Jars with silicone seals (blue or transparent rubber rings or seals in the lid) should be avoided.

Some suitable jars can also be purchased on-site.
