After the damming in the year 1882, Heidsee attracted all sorts of people: citizens of Chur, writers (Thomas Mann), artists (Hanna Kiel, Annemarie Schwarzenbach), theologians (Leonhard Ragaz), women activists (Clara Ragaz, Gertrud Rüegg), and playboys. They built summer villas, constructed hotels, founded holiday colonies, operated the Casoja adult education center, and indulged in the Dolce far niente. Get to know Valbella and its fleeting guests.
